I wanted to give a quick update.  I have heard many of you are concerned about what happens if you have problems with you retracts after we “shut down”.  First let me assure you the LADO product line will continue one, we are in the final stages of completing the sale transaction of our designs.  The new company is very eager to get started and have product available quickly.  They will continue to serve your needs. 

Also we are not “shutting down” LADO!  I will continue running LADO but just in a new direction mainly as an Engineering Firm.   You will still be able to get in touch with us at LADO if needed in the future, although the new company should be your first point of contact.  Very soon I will be announcing the who the new company is, so keep checking back here. 

 I am still not fully recovered but doing much better and able to get in the shop every day now.  We are working on re-assembling all our inventory and now filling orders.  I am still hopeful to have all orders filled by the end of the month, but it’s going to be very tight.   We will fill all orders that are pending.  I will post another update at the end of the month to keep you guys updated on our progress.

Dec 27 2009:

I hope you all had a great holiday.  Unfortunately I have some bad news.  Some of you know I have been very ill and admitted to the hospital for several days.  I am out and now recovering, doing much better.  But with this and our other problems this year has left LADO in a very weakened situation.  

Three Years ago I start LADO on a shoe string never thinking this would build into the monster that it did.  Never fully understanding what capital or resources we really need.  After 3 years of working pretty much none stop 7 days a week my health is catching up with me.  

We have decided to stop manufacturing and selling our Retract line and Actuators.  We just are not equipped to handle the volume of orders and growth.  I am working to sell the manufacturing rights so another company can pick up where we are leaving off.  My wish is they will be able to keep up with the demand and give the customer service you all deserve. 

So what is going to happen from here?

1. We are now working to fill all remaining orders.  We have the replacement bearings and are rebuilding everything.  My goal is to have all orders shipped by the end of January. 
2. We will not accept ANY new orders.  Please do not email or call asking, as I will not take even ONE more order at this point.  Sorry.
3. We will hopefully be selling the manufacturing rights to our Retract & Actuator product line.  When this happens I will inform you here on LADO’s home page of the new company.  You can continue buying from them. 

I am very sorry for the long delay in shipping due to our situation.  This weighted heavily on me and I hope the new company can provide you the same high quality product with short lead times and great customer service.  Something we have been unable to do.

Many of you may have been having a hard time getting a hold of us.  I apologies for this delay in communication.  I have been ill and in the hospital and since I run LADO solely things pretty much shut down in my absence.  Once I got back last week I found that we had a ball bearing problem, where the bearing would brake and cause our retract to jam.  I have ordered higher quality bearings and should have them in 10 days.  Once I get them I will rebuild all our inventory and finish shipping orders.  In the mean time we have stopped taking orders for all products, Sorry.

PLEASE NOTE Lado will be closed 9/30/09.  PG&E our power company is upgrading our power to our new facility and we will be without power for most of the day.  PG&E is estimating this work will be done by the end of the day on the 30th.

A quickly update.  We have just about all of the orders from our last batch shipped out; the last of them will go out Thursday / Friday.  So we will be putting stock back on the web site late this week. 

Also we will have a couple new products this week too.  We now carry heavy duty JR 12” servo extensions and “Y” harness.  They are very high quality and priced super low.  These will be up and available Friday.

August 27 2009:

Our sales over the past week have been incredible.  We have sold out of everything in less than a week.  Once we get all these orders out we will put more stock up on the site.  So please check back next week.   If you have placed an order we are working to fill them quickly, all should go out on time.

LADO is happy to announce we have two new products.  The 60-7 and 60-8 Electric Nose Retracts.  At this time we are selling these separately so please don’t forget to order the mains need for your project. 

We also have 60-2 and 60-2T finally available for purchase.  We have a limited supply of them built, tested and ready for immediate shipment.  Again we only have a limited supply; once they are sold they will be out of stock again.  All orders will ship in 7 days or less.

Over the past few months we have been working with an outside CNC machine shop to produce many of our parts.  CNC machining enough parts has been a bottle neck in our production.   By LADO outsourcing our CNC work we now have a steady stream of parts that matches the demand of our products.  Late last year we did this same thing with our electronic assembly, with both bottle necks eliminated we will be able to keep up with demand.  This has already been the case for the 60-1 and 60-6 products, as we now have stock built ahead. 

As of June 15 we no longer take pre-orders!  From now on if it’s in stock on the web site the product build, tested, and boxed ready for shipment.  I know we have had some huge lead times in the past, this will eliminate them.  We are even giving a 7 day shipping guarantee!  If your order ships after the 7th day, we will give you $50!  

Because we are now focusing on high volume production we are not longer doing custom installation / alterations.  I am working to get an outside source to be available to do this kind of work.  But for the moment no custom requests please.   

Also NEW BIG NEWS!!!!  LADO is moving to a new location that is better suited to our high volume needs!  We are mostly moved now, but our phone service is in the process of being moved.  AT&T has assured me that our calls will always get routed to our voicemail, so please leave a message.   This should be resolved by the end of the week at the latest.  None of our contact information will change, only our physical address.  

Again we have 60-1 and 60-6s available today.  We are still working to get caught up with the 60-2 and 60-2T orders, we are shipping them out now.  Once all back orders are filled, we will have stock available on the web site.

We have received our motors that we have been waiting on.  We have a ton of parts made up and we are now working on assembling them and getting the last few back orders out.  So if you have a pending order we will get them out to you in the next week to two depending on what you ordered.  We are going to build 60-1 / 60-6 first then 60-2 / 60-2Ts.  Thanks for your patients, it’s really appreciated. 

We are going to start taking orders again.  Please note the 2 to 3 week lead time and remember these are custom built in house by us so it takes some time.  I am antisapating a large flood of orders, so lead time will depend on what you order and when you order it.  But we do have a ton of parts and electronics already ready so things should move quickly. 

You will also note that we have increased our prices by approximately 5% on all products.  Our costs have gone up on most everything and we must increase our prices.  BUT….. For the rest of the month we are giving a 7.5% discount on all orders as I know many of you have been waiting to order.  So for this month you will still get the old price, actually a bit better than the old price.

As you have noticed everything is out of stock at the moment. The company we buy our motors from has been shut down for over 3 weeks for Chinese New Year.  Since our last order of motors was much larger than normal it took longer for the factory to fill our order and didn’t ship before their New Year holiday.  This has caused an extra 4 week delay for us. 

Because of this shipment delay and still being behind on orders we have decided not to take any web orders in the month of February.  So all products are out of stock and cannot be purchased from the web site.  If you want to place a PRE-ORDER call me directly so we can talk about the delays.  We plan to have stock available early March.  Please create and account on our site and check “Allow Promotional Emails”.  You will get notified when we have stock available.   

During this time we will still be filling back orders.  We are running about 4 - 6 weeks late right now on orders, so please be patient we will get them to you as quickly as we can, sorry for the long delay.

We are also doing our largest build of parts since we added the new CNC mill and increased our production capabilities.  Our plan is to use this time to build some stock ahead so we can reduce our lead times.

12/07/08 – HAPPY HOLIDAYS
To keep up with the demand of our products we have installed a new CNC mill and a fixture it to run 20 to 60 parts at a time depending on the part.  This has just about quadrupled our production capabilities and should be able to keep up with the demand much better.

We know our lead times have been very long and apologies for these delays.  We are making several changes to improve our service.   It has taken much longer to implement these changes then originally planned.  Thanks for your patients, it has really been appreciated.  

We are just starting to have product available again, but please note the following.  ALL orders are built as ordered.   This allow us to install build options like strut hole size and make minor modifications as requested.  After the first of the year we will be moving away from the custom built system and just build preset numbers of stock ahead.   Then when it’s in stock on the site the product will be ready to ship, and eliminate these delays.   But until then please note a lead of 1 to 2 weeks on new orders.    

In the next day or two you will see a new product category called “Retro Fit kits”.  There you will find retro fit kits put together for specific retracts.  For example the first kits will be for the Robart 630 Retract line.  We will have kits for tri-gear systems and just mains.  These kits come with everything required for installing the electric actuators in the Robart 630!  Also included is a detailed step by step instructions to help in the installation process.  These kits will allow you to convert your air retract to electric for the following models, just to name a few.

WOOO Horsy !!!!   Well we are out of stock again.  We had about two months worth of stock build ahead and it all sold in a little over one week.  We are really blown away by the interest in our products but right now, the demand continues to outpace our production capabilities.   We are in the process of expanding our production capabilities but in the mean time we will have periods when we are out of stock on certain products.    

If you are interested in buying our products please create an account and check “Allow Promotional Emails”.  Once the products are available an email will be sent to you.  We never give out your email address and will not flood you’re in box with SPAM.  So please this is really the best way to know when we have stock. 

If you have already placed an order we are shipping product as quickly as we can.  Once your order has shipped you will get an email notification with tracking info.  We will get your order out as quickly as possible, but with this HUGE volume of orders it will take a week to two for us to caught up.  Thanks for your support!
